Well, 15 days into the New Year and already things have been hopping. So far this year we've seen Microsoft dancing in the spotlight with its purchase of Hotmail, and then watched as a judge told them to go sit in the corner until they can play nice. Also in the blink of an eye, two of my favorite print magazines (Internet World & The WEB Magazine) decided to call it quits. Rats! What am I going to read at my local bookstore while I sip my Chai Latte!!?!
In the words of the Carpenters, "We've only just begun".
*** Prescriptions Filled Over The Internet ****
For those of you who get your prescriptions from the Thrifty/Payless/Rite Aid stores, some good news - now you can use the Internet to get your prescriptions refilled. This is one of those things that makes you think, "Well, of course! This is what the Net is for". Wading through a sea of web sites each month, it's the ones that save you time or make life easier that really stand out, and this is definitely one of them.Rite Aid Prescription: https://www.riteaid.com/secure/phar2.htm
*** Vitamin Adviser ****
While we are on the subject of drug stores... My wife just showed me a web site that helps make sense out of vitamins (not an easy task). Walk through the step by step survey and find out what vitamins are best for you, what they'll do for you, and which ones you probably should stay away from. It was no surprise to me when I learned that this was actually part of the Dr. Weil web site - a great resource.Vitamin Adviser: http://cgi.pathfinder.com/drweil/vitaminprofiler/1,1482,,00.html
*** Here's my Forced Feedback (An Ergonomic Warning) ****
For those of you who might have gotten the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback joystick for the holidays (or maybe for those of you who are thinking about getting one), a word of caution: this sucker can be a real pain for your wrists! This new tech toy allows you to get "feeling" from a game: the pull of a car as it makes a turn, the jerk of a gun as you fire it, the explosion of your craft as it blows up. The only problem: use it for any real length of time, and it will be your wrist that will "feel" the pain. I took mine back... OUCH!

*** To Roth or Not to Roth ****
Now that we're into 1998, millions of people (in the US) will have to make the decision about their retirements: to Roth or not to Roth. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, the Roth IRA is a new form of retirement account which is a child of the "Tax Payers Relief Act of 1997" (and with all the decisions, I'm trying real hard to find relief:). Visit Rothira.com for information, articles, and everything you always wanted to know (but were afraid to ask) about ROTH.Roth IRA: http://www.rothira.com/
*** Ain't it Cool?!? ****
He's a Hollywood insider... He's got the scoop on upcoming movies, scripts, casting and more... .His phone is ringing off the hook from movie studios, famous people, all the right people... There's only one thing.... He lives in Austin, Texas!! Harry Knowles is just a guy with a really cool home page, nothing flashy or fancy. But in true Internet form he's caused a stink, gotten a lot of attention and did it all himself. If you love movies (like I do), then be sure to pay Harry a visit, check in with the latest rumor and gossip, and see a great example of someone making it themselves on the Net.Ain't it Cool News: http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/
*** So How are We Doing? ****
So The Kleinman Report has come out in its new form for the past few months. What do you think?? Is the monthly format working? Is the report the right length, or is it too short/too long? Are there things you'd like to see in the report?Your feedback is important for me, and I take all the feedback I get into consideration when I do my report.
If you like the report, be sure to tell a friend. The Kleinman Report is completely free (no strings attached), so if you know someone who would enjoy getting the report, drop them a line and tell them to go to http://www.kleinman.com/sub.html or e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll be sure to add them.
Best Regards,
Geoff
