***Back from Vacation ***
This month I find myself returning to the Internet after a nice long break (I was off on a cruise for a week and a half at the end of October). Getting away from it all is always such a great thing, it's amazing what perspective a little time away from the computer can give you. Of course, true to form, the first thing I did when I got back (after getting, sorting and answering a week and a half's worth of e-mail) was look up the Royal Caribbean web site to see where else they go! If you're looking for a fantastic vacation, I can't recommend them enough, and their web site is a great place to see what a cruise is all about.

***Talkin on the Internet***
One of the things I really didn't miss while I was away was the myriad of web sites I go to everyday to read the up to the moment news and information about technology and the internet. Getting away for a while, I realized that talking so much about the Internet on the Internet is like inventing the telephone only to use it to talk about telephones....somehow that misses the whole point. Just this month a new site opened its doors for people who want to use the Internet to talk about more than just the Internet. Audettemedia is a place where you can sign up for one of the many subject based e-mail discussion groups and have e-mail discussions with people from around the world. If you love to talk about travel, shopping, food, finance and, yes, even the Internet, you should sign up for one of Audettemedia's free moderated mailing lists.

***In an Instant ***
Speaking of talking to someone, if you haven't checked it out yet, I'd strongly encourage you to try out AOL's Instant Messenger. It doesn't matter if you are an AOL subscriber or not, this great utility helps you keep track of your friends and family, and lets you know if they've logged on to the Internet or America Online. When someone you track comes online, you can send them an instant message, and have a quick chat. This is a great utility and one that is worth downloading and installing.
