This week US West launched a new service called Dive In, providing local content for ten US cities (including my home town of Portland, OR). I was so excited to see Portland listed on one of the big local content guides, I stopped what I was doing and paid Dive In a visit. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed at the guide and the lack of good local information that I resolved to find a good guide for local content (especially one which covers Portland, OR). After searching through a number of well known Local Content sites (most promising Portland sometime in the near future), I decided to check out the site that started the whole local content craze. City.net not only covers Portland, OR (and most other US Cities), it also covers cities across the globe. City.net is a great destination for local weather, maps, and links to local content on everything from restaurants, places to stay, and things to do in your city of choice.
