I first wanted to thank all of you who expressed your condolences to me after my last report. The outpouring of sympathy and support was truly inspiring. The thing that really blew me away was the vast number of you who have been through an ordeal like mine. I really think there is strength in numbers and that the Internet is a place where people can really come together. So now I'm tan, rested and ready to go again. The time off was good, but now I'm ready to get back to the Net!!!

Not a day goes by where I don't get at least four or five pieces of junk mail. To this day I have yet to find one e-mail ad, solicitation, or snippet that is even worth reading... Until now. Bonus Mail is a new concept in junk e-mail: get rewards for reading e-mail advertising. Think of it as frequent flyer miles for e-mail. I set up a Hotmail account (free web e-mail) especially for Bonus Mail, and now I'm racking up points rather than deleting and grumbling.

I have always been a big cookie fan. Some of my fondest memories are of being back in my old home with my family baking a late night batch of chocolate chip cookies. When I went off to college (in Ithaca), there was this great place that actually delivered fresh baked cookies! It was there I learned that there were other flavorful cookies besides just plain old chocolate chip. Imagine my delight when I found a site completely devoted to the art and science of making cookies. Cookie Recipe is the quintessential place on the Internet for cookie recipes, a perfect place to stop late at night, when baking a batch of rocky road bars sounds like a great idea.
